Reflection on Leadership

Throughout my time at Seattle U, I have encountered many people in positions of leadership and power, and I am happy to report than the vast majority have been pleasant, uplifting, and encouraging to me and my classmates. Dr. Knowles of the CPL was my first encounter with great leadership within Seattle U. She was my clinical group faculty member, and over time we grew closer as she showed kindness and respect towards us. I even volunteered for an event for her where I got connected with leadership at Virginia Mason to potentially create a residency program. A few quarters later, in my population health clinical site, I wanted to host a Epi-pen administration, and needed some trainers. I reached out to Suzan and was able to borrow 2 trainers for the demonstration. Connections like these were some of the reasons that Seattle U feels so special and welcoming to a new student from a far away place.
