Being a Leader in Nursing
From the time I was in highschool, I found myself in positions of leadership. I did not always appreciate the responsibilities or duties, but I know that if there was good to be done, I could do it. Many times in clinicals I gathered nurses and staff to teach us how to place IVs, as it is something we are not taught to do in people while in our APNI year. Next year. I hope to hone into my therapeutic communication with both patients and fellow staff. If I could go back in time and tell myself anything before starting the APNI year, it would be to trust your instincts and have fun. Meeting people will be the best part of the program, with only the beautiful city coming close. To avoid burnout in my nursing practice, I hope to first love the area of nursing I find myself in, such as Emergency Medicine. I also plan to immerse myself in nature with trips to lakes, hikes, and snowsports.
